Hiking
Sahara also travels very well in our SUV. He is very relaxed and falls asleep. In fact, the picture below is before the hike. After the hike, he was flat out.
All in all, Sahara is bold and eager to explore new places. He does not appear to be at all noise sensitive. He gets along very well with our other dogs and has done well meeting smaller dogs. We work full-time so he is crated for about 10 hours each day.

Into Foster
So far Sahara appears to be very bold. He is not shy or cautious about his environment. My husband has been taking him jogging and he really enjoys the trips. One of his pluses is that he is willing to jump into an SUV.
First and foremost, he has been learning about Kongs. I have been mixing his meals with a little canned pumpkin and stuffing it into multiple Kongs. Since the kennel is very boring, we are trying to help him relax and settle in by keeping him busy.

Playtime
One of SEGA's regular kennel volunteers stopped in to see Sahara Sand on Wednesday just for a visit. She took him out in the fenced yard for some ball practice.
He had a great time playing with the ball. She would throw it for him. He would run and chase after it. She said at first he wouldn't return it to her but made no attempt to run as she approached to take it away from him.
At first he was a little overly excited and jumped around. She said his little mouth quivered with excitement until he realized that she was going to throw the ball again for him. After about 10 times he woulstarted d bringing the ball back for some loving dog strokes & attention.
He didn't get the concept of giving her the ball in theat session, but let her take it from him. She feels pretty sure that over time he will give it to her. After their play session, she brushed him and tucked him back into his kennel for a nap. He's such a handsome boy!

All Boy
Sahara Sand is all boy. There's not doubt about that. He's playful and fun. He's strong but sweet. He's never met a stranger. He is eager to head outdoors. Once outdoors he starts looking for things to play with.
He's an active boy. No coach potato here! He has the sweetest face when he looks at you with his warm eyes. If you aren't careful, you'll fall under his spell. Life with this boy would likely never be dull!
